Organized Chaos

That’s my 2020-2021 academic calendar planner still sitting wrapped in the blue box on the left and my current planner in front with the pink floral design. Anyone else having planner paralysis with all of the unknown? My new planner starts in 3 days, and I think it’s time to get over it and get it started!

Last year I discovered the simplicity of Emily Ley’s Simplified Daily planner. I love that each day I can write my to do list with little boxes to check off and that there is a Notes section below where I can write down all of the other lists I have running through my head each day. And if I don’t get to it all, I just turn the page and have a fresh start. As a mother of four young kids, there is so much swirling through my head at all times, that the simple idea of writing it down helps me destress at night because I don’t worry about forgetting things since I know it’s in my planner! And at the end of the day, I don’t need a planner with lots of inspirational quotes or water/exercise log trackers that make me feel guilty about not getting things done or being the perfect mom.

This year I also purchased the Student Planner which is through the At-A-Glance collaboration. With some form of homeschooling happening this year, I thought it would help keep the kids’ schoolwork nice and organized if it was tracked in its own beautiful planner. Looking forward to getting this space organized ASAP.

Lastly, I love the “Love Your Season” print which recently arrived because it helps me keep things in perspective and serves as a reminder to look at all of the silver linings about this current season of the life at home during social distancing and the fact that I am unable to focus as much on my career as a result. So today I am loving this season of life and feeling thankful that I now have my blog as a creative outlet! And now I am so looking forward to designing this office space too!
